Privacy Policy

PitWeek ("we", "our", or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information.

Information We Collect

PitWeek collects minimal information to provide you with the best experience:

• Usage Data: We use Firebase Analytics to understand how people use the app, such as which screens are opened and which features are used. Firebase gives each app installation a random ID and estimates an approximate location (such as your country) from your IP address. This data is not linked to your name or email. When you buy a subscription or start a free trial, the analytics event also includes the store's transaction ID for that purchase.
• Device Information: Basic device information (device type, OS version) to ensure compatibility and improve performance.
• Calendar Access: If you choose to sync events, we access your device calendar. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
• Subscription Data: If you purchase a subscription, payment is processed securely by Google Play (Android) or Apple's App Store (iOS). We do not have access to your payment details. We do see which plan you bought, its price and currency, its store transaction ID and whether it is active. This is linked to the random ID the app uses to sign in to our servers anonymously, not to your name, email or Apple / Google account.
• Apple Ads Attribution (iOS only, while Share Analytics is on): If you installed PitWeek after seeing an ad for it on the App Store, the app can ask Apple for a short-lived token that tells us which of our Apple Ads campaigns led to the install. Apple decides what the token reveals; we use it only to measure our own ads.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the app
• To improve the app through usage analytics that are not linked to your name or email
• To process subscriptions via Apple StoreKit and Google Play Billing, and to check whether your subscription is active
• To measure which of our own App Store ads bring new users (iOS, only while Share Analytics is on)
• To send session reminders and schedule change notifications (with your permission)

Notifications

To deliver race alerts, the app registers your device with Apple's or Google's push service, which gives it a push token: a random address for this device that lets our server reach it. We use these tokens only to send the reminders, schedule changes and results you have switched on, and to start, update and end the race card on iPhone.

• iPhone and iPad: if you allow notifications, the app stores in our Firebase database, under its anonymous sign-in ID, the notification token, the platform ("ios") and when the app was last opened. If you use Live Activities (the race card on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island), it also stores the Live Activity push tokens, the app's version and bundle ID, and whether the build is a test build or from the App Store.
• Android: the app stores no token in our database. It subscribes the device to the notification topics you have switched on in Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google), which keeps the device's token in order to deliver them.

To stop: switch off the topics in the app's Settings → Notifications, or turn off notifications for PitWeek in your device's Settings. On iPhone, switching off Show Race Card in the app's Settings removes the token that starts the race card; you can also turn off Live Activities for PitWeek in iOS Settings. Data Storage

• All racing event data is stored securely in Firebase Cloud Firestore
• Your personal preferences are stored locally on your device
• We do not sell or trade your personal data. We share data only with the service providers listed below, and only what each one needs to do its job for PitWeek

Third-Party Services

PitWeek uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): For data storage, analytics, and crash reporting. Firebase Privacy Policy
• Google AdMob: For displaying advertisements to free users. Collects device identifiers, an approximate location estimated from your IP address, how you interact with the app and its ads, and diagnostics (such as performance data), to serve and measure ads. Google may link this data to your device's advertising identifier: on iPhone and iPad only if you allow tracking (App Tracking Transparency) — otherwise iOS gives the app no advertising identifier; on Android, the Android advertising ID, which you can reset or delete in your device's settings. • Apple StoreKit and Google Play Billing: For subscription payments and management
• RevenueCat: Keeps track of your subscription status. Receives your purchases and their status, including the store's purchase record (the App Store transaction on iOS, Google Play's purchase token on Android); the random ID the app uses to sign in to our servers anonymously (until that sign-in finishes, a random ID of RevenueCat's own); your device type, operating system and app version; your device's language and region setting and the price currency; and, on iOS while Share Analytics is on, the Apple Ads attribution token. • Jolpica F1 API (iOS only): The app requests schedules, results and standings directly from this service, which sees your device's IP address
• Formula 1 (api.formula1.com, formula1.com), Ergast and OpenF1 (iOS only): When our own servers cannot be reached, the app asks these services for the race calendar directly; they see your device's IP address
• Motorsport.com, Autosport and Formula1.com news feeds: The News tab downloads these sites' public news feeds directly; they see your device's IP address
• Open-Meteo: The app requests the weather forecast for the circuit's coordinates. The app never reads your device's location — it asks for no location permission. Open-Meteo sees your device's IP address. Separately, Google estimates an approximate location (such as your country or city) from your IP address for analytics and ads

Each service has its own privacy policy that governs the use of your data.

Advertising

PitWeek displays advertisements to users who have not subscribed to PitWeek PRO. These ads are served by Google AdMob. On iPhone and iPad: when you grant App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission, AdMob may serve personalized ads based on your interests; when you deny tracking, only non-personalized ads are shown. You can change your tracking preference at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. ATT is an Apple feature and does not apply on Android.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data
• Delete the data on your device: "Reset All Data" in Settings erases the app's data on this device (such as your predictions, saved items, settings and cache). It does not delete records kept on servers
• Have the records kept on servers deleted — your RevenueCat customer record, analytics data and the Firebase data tied to your anonymous sign-in ID, including notification tokens — by emailing us at spiderservicedev@gmail.com
• Opt out of analytics: turn off Share Analytics in Settings → Privacy (iOS) or Usage analytics in Settings (Android). This stops usage analytics; on iOS it also stops crash reports and, from the next time the app starts, the Apple Ads attribution token
• Cancel your subscription at any time in Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS)

For Users in the European Union (GDPR)

In addition to the rights above, EU users have:

• Right to rectification of inaccurate data
• Right to data portability
• Right to restrict processing
• Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at spiderservicedev@gmail.com. PitWeek has no accounts and never asks for your name or email: the data described above is tied only to random IDs. Data on your device is cleared with "Reset All Data" in Settings; to have the records kept on servers deleted too, email us and we will delete them.

Children's Privacy

PitWeek does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
